Qatar has said it will spend $8 billion on infrastructure development over the next few years.
The plans include development of roads, sewerage networks, and schools and projects in the health sector, the Gulf Times reported, citing Economy and Commerce Minister Shaikh Hamad bin Faisal Al Thani.
Including investment in the oil and gas sector, he said, the amount would exceed $25 billion by 2010.
The minister said the creation of a single-window facility for the speedy clearance of projects would be considered.
