Caterpillar opens Dafza office

01 November 2003

In a bid to meet the need for increased support in the region for its Cat lift truck dealers, the Netherlands-based Mitsubishi Caterpillar Forklift Europe (MCFE) and the Japan-based Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI), have opened a new regional branch office at the Dubai Airport Free Zone (Dafza).

The opening of the new branch coincides with the launch of the new NT-range of diesel and petrol engine powered lift trucks. 'Based on the highly popular and very reliable DP15-35/ GP15-35 range, the new NT-range is available in 1.5, 1.8 and 2.0 tonne compact and 2.0, 2.5, 3.0 and 3.5 tonne capacities and is a substantial improvement in terms of reliability, comfort, safety, versatility and ease of maintenance over its predecessor,' says Jan-Joost G den Baas, territory manager for the Middle East.

With the Middle Eastern market growing faster than Europe or the US, MCFE and MHI have realised that customers in the Middle East have special requirements unique to the environment in which their products operate. Baas adds: 'We are thrilled to be closer to our customers and dealers. It is our intention to monitor market trends more closely and directly tailor our products to meet the demands of our dealer network and customers in the future. Increased safety is one of them and we believe the new NT-range is a great example of providing that.'

MCFE/Cat Lift Trucks is one of the leading manufacturers of lift and warehouse trucks and offers unrivalled support to its dedicated dealer network worldwide, he says.
