Engineering work on the Dh187 million ($ 51million) Zabeel Park in Dubai, which will use interactive technology displays and an array of walks and fountains, will start within the next 18 months, says a report.
The 51-hectare park that will come up near the Sheikh Zayed Road, will feature extensive sports and recreation facilities over three plots connected by bridges, said Matter Al Tayer, assistant director general of the roads and general projects department at Dubai Municipality.
A technology zone at the park will comprise interactive displays, an electronic 'Space Maze', a sports area including basketball and tennis courts and a clubhouse, a Barcode Garden, which includes hi-tech displays and water features, an alternative energy zone featuring displays of solar, wind, geo-thermal and tidal power, the report said.
It will also have 45-m panoramic tower allowing visitors to get a whole view of Dubai, while a 3D cinema will accommodate up to 200 people.
