Gargash Real Estate, in association with LW Design Group, has announced details of The Design House, a unique development located within Dubai's Technology, Electronic Commerce and Media Free Zone (Tecom).

Developed exclusively to create a centre for leading architects, interior designers and related suppliers of furniture, fabrics, lighting and accessories, the project is a selection of highly specified retail spaces (9,500 sq ft), studios, workshops and large duplex offices (25,500 sq ft) as well as seven fashionable duplex apartments (10,000 sq ft). In addition, the building includes an exhibition space (3,000 sq ft) and a designers' caf‚ located on the ground floor with a landscaped garden.

The Design House, scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2005, is designed by Dubai-based LW Design Group and Arif and Bintoak consulting architects.
Apart from being ideally located in the heart of Dubai, the Design House offers the practical benefits of world class servicing, IT support as well as the numerous benefits associated with basing a new or existing business in a free-zone.

LW Design Group has considered the sector's needs based on its own experience. 'We have this building with designers in mind,' says Morten Hansen, managing partner for LW Design Group. 'The working space has been carefully considered and the floors can be subdivided into large offices or small studios depending on individual needs.'

Given the heavy reliance on technology to support the design requirements of The Design House's tenants, an IT specialist has been commissioned to ensure the building offers the latest in cable management design technology.

Tenants of The Design House will also benefit from its facilities including private underground car parking, four high-speed elevators, chilled swimming pool and other leisure facilities.
