122 villas spring up on Palm frond

Following the completion of the two-year reclamation work, the construction of 122 villas on Frond E of The Palm, Jumeirah, which started this March, is rapidly progressing and will be complete by this November.

The villas – part of Phase I of the project – are at present in the early stages of erection with over 20 per cent of the work completed, and the landscaping and infrastructure works will begin by the end of summer, a company spokesman said.
The beachfront villas on the left-hand side of Frond E are the first villas set to be completed, followed by those on the right- hand side, putting the first phase of construction ahead of schedule. Prior to completion, each property’s beach will be re-graded to ensure maximum waterfront for homeowners prior to taking ownership of the property, he said.
“The Palm, Jumeirah is designed to be a residential environment of unequalled quality giving residents the opportunity to own the most luxurious, waterfront properties to their specifications,” said Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, chairman of Nakheel.
Being one of the busiest fronds in number of villas, frond E was chosen as it contained the correct percentage of villa types in the first phase of the construction works. After construction, a team of world-renowned interior designers would commence work on finalising the villas as per customer specifications. The interiors of each villa will be designed to high levels of specification in modern, classic or traditional Arabic themes.
The vibro-compaction continues to be completed on each frond of The Palm. The foundations for the villas is nearing completion  on Fronds D, AP and O and construction of the villas will get under way this month, beginning Phase II of the project, the spokesman said. Further construction activity will continue rolling out rapidly throughout the remainder of the year, he added.
Meanwhile, Nakheel has also announced the release of a total of 900 units for sale, on a freehold basis, within The Palm Jumeirah development.
Covering six luxury residential freehold buildings and located at the heart of The Palm overlooking the central marina, the Marina Apartments will comprise 858 apartments, 12 penthouses and 30 townhouses totaling 900 homes.  The complex is housed in one of the most prestigious developments on The Palm – located on the uppermost part of the palm trunk, at the top of ‘The Golden Mile’.
“Residents of Marina Apartments can look forward to mooring their boats at private jetties, cruise along the canals, and enjoy the many privileges of a home by the water,” Sulayem elaborated.
The penthouses will be restricted to two per building on the highest floor of the six buildings, while the lower floors will house the apartments. The townhouses will be located independently, adjoining the marina. The areas between each building and the townhouses will offer picturesque landscaping and recreational areas.
