Work on a pottery museum, formally named the Clay Musem, is expected to begin shortly in in A'ali, Bahrain. The museum will be built on an area of 3,000 sq m at a cost of BD70,000 ($185,676), and will be financed by the Information Ministry. The work on the museum has been approved by the ministry and will take six months to complete.






Work on the Bahrain Racing Circuit (BRC), which will host the first Formula One Grand Prix in the Middle East, continues to progress ahead of schedule and is expected to be completed within the 484-day period. A deadline of March 7 has been set to finish the BD56.2 million track ($150 million), which is now more than 30 per cent complete.






Architecture Studio of France has been awarded the contract to design Bahrain's first national theatre. The BD3 million ($7.9 million) project is being developed by the Ministry of Information in cooperation with the Ministry of Works and Housing. The project includes a 750-seat theatre and associated parking and service facilities.






The Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) has signed an ODA loan agreement totalling five billion yen ($42.3 million) with the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company (EEHC) to support the Cairo-Alexandria transmission system project.






ACE Almoayyed (ACEA) has promised to redesign and redevelop the Manama suq in Bahrain without sacrificing the heritage it embodies.






A memorandum of understanding has been signed between Bahrain's Finance and National Economy Ministry and Wiggins Group to build a new equestrian club in Sakhir, at a cost of BD189 million ($500 million).






Projects-Access Scaffolding and Formwork Company (Projects-Access), a joint venture between Projects of Bahrain and Access of the UAE, has recorded significant growth since its establishment earlier this year.






Bahrain's Works and Housing Ministry is to build six model sports clubs in the country, said an official. Acting assistant under-secretary for projects, construction and maintenance Mohammed Khalil Al Sayed said the clubs will be in Riffa, Al Najma in Hoora, Sitra, Jidhafs Youth Club, Al Etifaq in Duraz and Tadamen in Demstan.






Spoerry Architecture of France and the local Gulf House Engineering have been awarded the consultancy works for the BD100 million ($265.9 million) Al Marsa Floating City project in Bahrain.






 The area surrounding an ancient spring in Bahrain's Mahooz area will be turned into a park as part of the country's efforts to preserve its natural and historic sites. The BD330,000 ($877,658) project on Umm Shuoom spring is waiting for an approval on the budget from the Finance and National Economy Ministry.






L&T Oman wins Al Khoud projectOman: The Muscat Municipality has awarded a RO3.5 million ($9.14 million) order to the Gulf-based subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T) to build a flyover at Al Khoud. The flyover will be built by L&T Oman, with technical support from ECC, the construction division of L&T.
