A BD1 million ($2.65 million) link building at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) is to be constructed by the local Project SA. The proposed centre will conveniently link the existing exhibition Halls One and Two, which offer a total exhibition area of 14,000 sq m. Hall One was built in 1991 at a cost of BD4 million while Hall Two, was added in 1999 at a cost of BD2.6 million. The new building will include function and meeting rooms of 800 and 400 sq m that will accommodate about 800 people. When the expansion is completed, BIEC can host functions with more than 2,000 guests. The project is scheduled to be completed in October.
