Work begins on Al Rossais tower

Work on a BD2.1 million ($5.6 million) office tower has started in the Diplomatic Area in Manama, Bahrain.

The 19-storey Al Rossais Tower is named after Saudi businessman Mohammed Al Rossais, who is financing the project. The contractor is Projects SA and the design and supervision consultant is Mohammed Salahuddin Consulting Engineering Bureau's (MSCEB).

Piling work, which is currently in progress, is being carried out by G K N Keller Grundbau. The project, next to the Alia Commercial Centre and the Batelco building, is scheduled for completion in April 2004.

A total of 6,000 sq m of office space will be available for letting out upon completion.The building will feature a granite-clad facade with curtain-walling and will be fitted with modern electromechanical services including central air-conditioning, fire alarm and closed circuit television (CCTV) system.

Parking for 65 cars will be available on floors one to four.
