Hira launches new rubber products

UAE-based Hira Industries, a leading distributor of HVAC (heating, ventilation and air-conditioning equipment), has started full production of a range of rubber-moulded and extruded products at its new plant in Al Quoz, Dubai.

The new facility will produce a wide range of rubber products that include: corner guards and speed humps for parking protection, marine fenders, seals, ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) profiles for the curtain-wall industry and many other custom-made products according to exact customer specifications.
“Rubber products are manufactured using different polymers depending on the application of the products,” says a company spokesman. “For instance, an oil-resistant product, would require either an EPDM or neoprene rubber polymer, whereas a high water-resistance product would be produced using natural rubber, the most commonly-used polymer. Similarly, for extreme temperature applied products, the consumer would have to use silicon rubber. It is very important to use the right polymer for the right application, as this is the only way a product will work for the customer. There are, of course, price differences in the type of polymers a manufacturer chooses for the production, and due to competition in the market, you could sometimes find a product with an incorrect polymer. Hira Industries has a team of qualified rubber chemists to ensure that our customers get the right product – that means the right polymer for their application.”
