The Big 5

Power to perform

01 November 2010

UNITECH for Building and Construction Materials of Saudi Arabia will count on its new-generation power tools to ensure a dynamic performance at The Big 5 this year.

The innovative tools along with the company’s latest product range including cable management systems, architectural and industrial products will be launched at the show which, according to the company, provides access to the massive construction market in the region.

“A wide choice of building and construction materials will be offered at the show by Unitech,” says general manager Abdul Karim Rajab. “The Big 5 is a huge event that will help us to become better known in the region; support us in the new-generation businesses; and will help us sustain the confidence and loyalty of our existing customers. It also gives us proximity to an area of economic importance that is home to a thriving construction business.”

Rajab continues: “Despite the global economic downturn, the Middle East construction industry will keep growing at an annual rate of 3.5 per cent in the coming years, ranking only third behind Asia and significantly ahead of Europe and North America.”

Elaborating on Unitech’s Big 5 fare, Rajab says: “As a first step toward diversification and with a target of securing a niche in the regional market, Unitech will launch the Dynamik Power Tools – a new-generation of power tools for the building and construction industry.

“The new power tools are engineered to ensure efficient operation and are in line our business principle of marketing easy-to-use products incorporating innovative features, so that these tools and machines get jobs done quickly and accurately, without compromising quality.”

Backed by European technologies, high-quality products and practice-oriented services, Unitech will aim to strengthen its business operations by establishing partnerships with clients at the show.

“We promised our visitors a full line of diversified products and close support built on our commitment to develop and enhance our business operations. Unitech will convey its core values that are based on excellence, integrity and service,” says Rajab.

Commenting on the company’s expansion plans, Rajab says: “We aim to expand geographically and tap the opportunities available worldwide, as part of a strategic decision taken by Unitech in 2001 to extend our reach throughout Saudi Arabia and further afield.”

Today, Unitech is present in 66 locations in 35 cities across 14 countries – Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon, Germany, China, Oman, Yemen, Libya, Kuwait and the UK.

The company now intends to set up operations in Morocco, Djibouti, Nigeria, Irbil (Iraq), Tunisia, Malta and New Zealand. “We’ve been able to successfully penetrate these areas as they were not much affected by the financial crisis and their markets still offer ample opportunities for growth,” Rajab adds.

One of the leading companies in the Middle East and a member of IKK (Isam Kabbani Group of Companies) – a major well-diversified group of companies in Saudi Arabia – Unitech offers its extensive portfolio of services across the Gulf and has successfully delivered its products for 32 years to a wide range of public and private sector clients and engineering projects that includes prestigious developments such as the Burj Khalifa and Al Maktoum International Airport in Jebel Ali, Dubai, UAE.

Unitech caters to the requirements of its clients through 35 sales offices and showrooms, four factories, 22 warehouses in addition to the R&D (research and development) outlets in its area of operations.

Unitech for Building and Construction Materials will be present at Stand C171 in Rashid Hall.
