THE Imer Group of Italy has strengthened its leadership position in the concrete machinery division with the launch of a new line of truck-mounted pumps in collaboration with German company Waitzinger Baumaschinen.

“Imer Group’s all-new range of pumps incorporates an innovative and revolutionary outrigger system patented by Waitzinger,” says Paolo Salvadori, chairman of the group’s concrete machinery division.

The latest agreement will pave the way for the production of a complete range of truck-mounted concrete pumps made in Italy and designed in Germany by Waitzinger, a leader in the production of truck-mounted concrete pumps.

Based in Siena, Italy, Imer Group is a European leader in the production of construction machinery, mortar spraying and conveying machinery, machines and plants for the production, transport and laying of concrete, in addition to specialising in the manufacture of construction equipment and mobile aerial working platforms.

The new line of pumps complements the existing product range of the group’s concrete machinery division, says Salvadori. “With this line, the group has now realised its objective of expanding the technical division responsible for its truck mixer line (acquired in 2002), with the aim of developing a complete range of products and services in the concrete machinery division.”

He continues: “With the new series of truck-mounted concrete pumps, Imer has established itself as a full-line group with a complete range for the production, transport and installation of concrete. The range includes models with booms from 32 up to 47 m long and three outrigger systems (XS, XT and XXT). The ‘patented’ XXT outrigger allows maximum stability and versatility, providing access where other machines cannot. The machine is more stable thanks to a reduced number of extendable elements, which also makes it easy to use when operating in confined spaces, close to walls, streets or other obstacles, while casting concrete longitudinallly in front of the truck cabin. Fewer movements also make operations easier.”

The outrigger system comprises two hydraulically slewable telescopic front outriggers and two hydraulically slewable rear outriggers. There is only one bearing point for both outriggers. When opened, the tension is concentrated in the centre of the machine, making it more stable than other systems, Salvadori claims.

The XXT also system allows for the safe operation of the boom in front of the cabin.

Elaborating on its operation, he says: “The concrete is placed inside the pipes by conveying cylinders by way of the S valve, where an automatic centralised greasing system guarantees the long life of the load-bearing sections and seals. The loading hopper, fitted with a stirrer, then eases the concrete to the centre of the suction sections. By optimising the suction phase, the conveying cylinders are filled to high levels, even if the concrte is very hard and compact and difficult to pump. A hydraulic water pump is used to clean the pipes and concrete pump.”

Production of the new line of truck-mounted concrete pumps started in March this year, at the Udine factory and the group’s five-year plan anticipates production of up to 300 pumps a year.

Imer operates in the region through Imer Middle East and will be promoting its latest products at The Big 5 PMV.

Salvadori says The Big 5 is an opportune platform for the Imer to promote its new product line in the Middle East market and boost its business in the region.
