JCB shovels make debut in Qatar

British construction equipment maker JCB has recently supplied six 456ZX wheeled loading shovel machines to Qatar's Ministry of Municipal Affairs (MMA) and the Modern Construction Company (MCC).
The machines were the first JCB wheeled loading shovels sold in Qatar.
The new machines were unveiled at a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Ramada Hotel in Doha, attended by more than 20 representatives including the JCB dealer, Mannai Trading Company and JCB personnel from the UK head office.
The four machines supplied to MMA will be used for general civil construction work in and around Doha, while MCC will use the two machines on a three-year project on salt rehandling.
Meanwhile, the first ever JCB Robot skid steer loaders were recently sold in the UAE - with the promise of more orders to come.Four have gone into service in Dubai and one in Abu Dhabi.
JCB's UAE dealer Galadari has ordered 12 more machines and the company aims to capture 20 per cent of the skid steer market in the region this year.
The Dubai customer cited the Robot's unique side entry as one of the main reasons for purchase and also said it was more powerful and better balanced than those of competitors.
