The Zubair group of Oman is building a $40 million hotel in Dubai, UAE. The four-star-plus facility will be managed by the hotel chain Traders belonging to the Shangri La Hotels and Resorts Group.
The hotel, coming up at Muraqabhe area in Deira, will have 250 rooms, said Hakim Magid Saud Al Maamari, tourism manager at the Zubair Corporation. Facilities will include a restaurant, a health club, a swimming pool, a boardroom and three basement floors for underground parking.
The initial work has already been completed and work on the main structure will start soon, he said. The hotel is scheduled to open by July 2003.
Badri and Bensouda has been appointed as the architect, while Shankland & Cox will act as the electromechanical engineers of the project.
The Zubair Corporation is also setting up a RO65 million ($169 million) fully integrated resort project at Barr Al Jissah on the banks of the Gulf of Oman. The resort also will be managed by Shangri La Hotels and Resorts Group.
The resort, which is coming up in an area of 500,000 sq m, will offer 715 rooms and suites. An exclusive spa and a health club managed by the Singapore-based Banyan Tree will among the attractions of the resort.
