Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) has awarded Arab Bamako Contracting Company power generation contracts worth SR2.45 billion ($650 million).
The deal is part of a move to facilitate a considerable increase in power generating capacity and enhance the feeding of the electricity network in Saudi Arabia’s Central Region in order to meet peak summer loads from next year.
The company has also signed a contract for enhancing power generation, at a cost of SR173 million ($46 million), in the Hail region.
In addition, the company has signed another contract worth SR354 million ($94.3 million) for cooling the turbines of the ninth station in Riyadh.
