Pioneering industrial fair to debut in Bahrain

01 March 2007

A new international industrial fair for the Gulf is to make its debut next year in Bahrain.

Called the Gulf Industry Fair, the expo will be held from January 15 to 17 at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre (BIEC).
The fair is being organised by Hilal Conferences & Exhibitions (HCE) in cooperation with Hannover Messe International (HMI), the organiser of the world’s biggest industrial event, the Hannover Messe Fair.
The show has also won the support of the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (Unido).
Commenting on the partnership, HMI managing director Andreas Luttman says: “HMI is able to draw on all its extensive expertise at home and in international markets. Given the dynamic economic development in the Middle East, many companies from around the world do have a strong interest in participating at professional trade shows in order to display their state-of-the-art technology to potential customers. We expect a substantial increase in demand in the Middle East, especially in the field of industrial manufacturing technologies. Therefore, we are very glad to be invited by HCE to join Gulf Industry 2008 in Bahrain, which is from our point of view a perfect hub for the region as it is closely linked to the neighbouring markets.”
The 2008 fair would have the following components – Gulf Aluminum, Gulf Metal, Gulf Energy, Gulf Automation, Gulf Metrology, Gulf Logistics and Gulf Manufacturing.
HCE general manager Abdulla Shafeea says: “Gulf Industry Fair is the first industrial exhibition aimed at providing the rapidly expanding economies of the GCC with unique forums dedicated to the industrial and related sectors. Located in Bahrain, it is perfectly positioned to attract professionals from the region’s most important industrial economy – Saudi Arabia – as well as from the growing industrial sectors of the other Gulf states.”
