Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Al Hariri has launched work on a $150 million Saudi-managed real estate project in Beirut.
The Marina Towers, a luxury apartment complex overlooking a new $170 million marina in central Beirut is aimed at rich Gulf nationals and Lebanese expatriates. The smallest 580-sq-m flat sells for $1.8 million. A 1,500-sq-m penthouse is more than $7 million.
Marina Towers will be built next to a 250-room Four-Seasons hotel owned by Saudi investor Prince Alwaleed bin Talal. The projects were jointly announced in 1998 and are finally going ahead.
