Mesteel.com, a B2B steel portal for the Middle East, now offers its members a chance to spend a night at the world's tallest hotel tower.
The special promotion is in line with the UAE government's commitment to make e-government and services widely available, says web administrator Deep Kumar.
''Out of all steel inquiries and offers publicly placed on the Mesteel website in November, two companies will win a dream night in one of the most fabulous hotels in the Middle East, the Burj Al Arab in Dubai," he said.
The move aims to generate offers and inquiries on Mesteel.com, and encourage the steel community to become more familiar with e-business.
Mesteel actively promotes steel e-commerce in the Middle East. It provides steel e-commerce to buyers, sellers and service companies in the Middle East and offers a united Internet exposure with a very detailed and interactive members database.
"Mesteel.com presently receives about 1,500 visitors per month. Many visitors use Mesteel's interactive database to make steel inquiries/offers, find new suppliers or buyers, and job offers or CVs," he says.
"Others offer their services to members through the direct email service or the message board, or browse through the steel news and events.
"The website's 'product info' section is rich in technical data, and input from members and visitors is added regularly to the site.
"Members post offers and inquiries on line in an easy-to-read format while non-members can check public offers and inquiries without a password.
"Steel orders are concluded through an easy online system, where two parties exchange and update a secure common 'Proposal' sheet, until the order is eventually finalised."
Mesteel.com, which is linked with all major search engines and continuously updated on new Middle East and specialised steel portals, provides worldwide exposure to its members against a nominal registration fee.
Kumar continues: "Each member receives a web address www.mesteel.com/company name, with two web pages. A first page has standard data on the company. The second page shows pictures and information the company wishes to advertise. Companies can add more pages, making it their complete website. If they already have their own website, they can just link it.
''All these data can be sorted by visitors on line, by activity, by products bought/sold, by country, by city and so on.''
