Marina Mall kicks off MEP works

01 December 2007

Following the 100 per cent completion of concreting work at Emaar’s Dubai Marina Mall, work has now commenced on the project’s mechanical, electrical, plumbing and interior design aspects.

Scheduled to open in mid-2008, the mall, with a 390,000 sq ft gross leasable area, will host 160 stores having a mix of retail shopping, dining and entertainment options alongside a seven-storey gourmet tower showcasing world-class cuisine from around the world.
In a separate development Alumco, a specialised aluminium facade contractor, has won a Dh100 million ($27.23 million) contract to supply high quality aluminium facades for Ocean Heights Tower, also at Dubai Marina.
Developed by Damac properties and designed by Aedas, the 310-m, 82-storey tower is being constructed by Arabtec Construction. Engineering Consulting Group (ECG) is the main project consultant.
The project is expected to be complete by mid 2010.
Dubai Marina is a 50-million sq ft development with a 11-km waterfront boardwalk and will feature five marinas with fully-serviced berths that can accommodate 500 vessels.
